Terms of use

Updated on 11 October 2026

These terms of use (the "Terms") govern access to and use of the finances-independants.be website. By browsing the site, you accept these Terms without reservation.

1. Publisher of the site

Finances Indépendants
Email: contact@finances-independants.be.

For other legal information (hosting provider, editorial responsibility), see the legal notice page.

2. Purpose of the site

finances-independants.be is an information website about the finances of the self-employed in Belgium (PLCI/VAPZ, IPC, POZ/CPTI, personal income tax, NISSE contributions, pension, protection). It offers free articles, guides and simulators. Visitors who wish to can ask to be contacted: their request is then passed on, with their agreement, to an adviser or broker registered with the FSMA.

3. Informational nature and regulatory warning

The content published is provided for general guidance only. It constitutes neither personalised insurance or investment advice nor a recommendation. Consult a licensed professional before making any decision.

The simulators provide estimates based on the legal parameters in force on the date shown. The results are not a quote and do not bind the publisher or the insurance companies mentioned.

4. Access to the site and conditions of use

Access to the site is open and free of charge to any user with an internet connection. You agree to use the site fairly, without undermining its operation, its security or the rights of third parties. The following are prohibited in particular:

  • unauthorised automated collection (mass scraping, denial of service);
  • commercial reuse of the content without complying with the licence (see §5);
  • any attempt to circumvent security measures or to access restricted areas.

The publisher reserves the right to suspend access in the event of misuse.

5. Intellectual property

The editorial content (articles, guides, original illustrations) is made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC-BY-4.0). Any quotation or reproduction must credit the source as "finances-independants.be" and include a link to the original page. The trademarks, logos, trade names and financial products mentioned remain the property of their respective owners.

The site contains links to external resources (FSMA, NISSE, FPS Finance, Belgian authorities, specialist press). The publisher has no control over these sites and accepts no liability for their content, availability or privacy policy.

7. Limitation of liability

The publisher makes every effort to ensure that the information published is accurate, up to date and easy to read. However:

  • the publisher cannot be held liable for a decision taken solely on the basis of the site's content, without confirmation from a professional;
  • the exchange that follows a contact request is the sole responsibility of the adviser or broker who contacts you, not of the publisher;
  • tax and social security parameters (NSSO/NISSE rates, PLCI/VAPZ ceilings, personal income tax brackets) change: content is dated and reviewed regularly, but checking with the official sources is still recommended;
  • the publisher does not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the site and is not liable for indirect damage (loss of opportunity, loss of earnings) arising from the use or unavailability of the site.

8. Personal data and cookies

The processing of your personal data is described in our privacy policy and our cookie policy. To exercise your GDPR rights or request the deletion of your data, see the unsubscribe page.

9. Changes to the Terms

The publisher may amend these Terms at any time to reflect legal, technical or editorial developments. The applicable version is the one published on the site on the day of your visit. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Belgian law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought first. Failing that, the Belgian courts have sole jurisdiction, unless a mandatory legal provision in the consumer's favour provides otherwise.
