1. Data controller

The controller of your data is Finances Indépendants, publisher of the website finances-independants.be, who can be reached by email at contact@finances-independants.be.

2. Data collected

  • Data provided through forms (simulators, contact request, guide downloads, newsletter): email, first name, surname, postcode, phone number where applicable, free-text message, financial data entered for the simulation (income, age, etc.).
  • Browsing data (anonymised) via Pirsch (GDPR-native, cookieless analytics) and Google Analytics 4.
  • Technical and functional cookies needed for the site to work (sessions, language preference).
  • Your request (Art. 6.1.b GDPR, steps taken at your request):
    • sending your simulation and the guides you requested;
    • passing your request on to an adviser or broker registered with the FSMA, who may get back to you;
    • sending the newsletter, if you have subscribed to it.

You can unsubscribe or ask for your data to be erased at any time.

  • Legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f GDPR): audience measurement and analysis of browsing paths on the site (PostHog, Google Analytics 4) to improve it, and linking that browsing path to your request when you submit a form.
  • Legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f GDPR): logging of your requests (date, IP address) and site security.

4. Retention period

Your data is kept for 3 years from your last interaction (form, email), then deleted. You can ask for it to be erased at any time. Where your request has been passed on to an adviser or broker, they keep the data received in line with their own legal obligations.

5. Recipients

Your data is not sold. It may be shared:

  • with your agreement, with an adviser or broker registered with the FSMA, so that they can get back to you about your request. They then process this data as a separate controller, for the rest of your exchange;
  • with the site's technical processors:
    • Resend (transactional emails, EU)
    • Vercel + Cloudflare (hosting, United States, Standard Contractual Clauses)
    • Pirsch (analytics, EU)
    • PostHog EU (analysis of browsing paths on the site, EU; linked to your contact details if you submit a form, see the cookie policy)
    • Google Analytics 4 (truncated IP)

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. To exercise these rights, write to contact@finances-independants.be enclosing a copy of your identity document (which we will destroy once verified).

You can also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority: autoriteprotectiondonnees.be (new tab).

7. Cookies

The site uses technical cookies (session, preferences) and audience measurement cookies (PostHog, Google Analytics 4), active as soon as you arrive. Pirsch sets no cookies. Details, retention periods and how to block them in your browser are given in the cookie policy.
